A Day for Music on Talk Shows: Today just felt like a good day for a theme, so I picked a random word out of a book - it was “hairless.” For some reason my mind went to David Letterman and then it expanded into the general idea of talk shows and then the music that performs on talk shows.
So here is one of my favourite clips of Tom Waits, in all of his pants tightening glory (just so we’re clear, I would go gay for this man), on David Letterman back in 1986 promoting Rain Dogs.

A Day for Music on Talk Shows: The second half of Tom Waits on David Letterman in which he performs Time. This is my favourite song off of Rain Dogs.

Today is the 6th anniversary of my Father’s death. For the fifth anniversary I pierced my nipples, but that was more because I wanted them done and I had the day off. I don’t try to make this day out to be anything special or even negative, however things typically work out that way. So instead of dedicating this entire week to posts about Slayer (which I have no reason or real understanding as to why I was going to do so) I’m posting the closing track to Tom Waits’s debut 1973 album, Closing Time.
This was the song played at my Father’s funeral…
I’ll be back to posting about Slayer tomorrow.
